Let’s be honest, you don’t have the time to sit down and mess with making your own designs for Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts. Using Canva to create these posts instead allows you to choose a format, plug in the words you want to use, and boom- it’s done and it’s free.
Canva is a free website that allows its users to create everything from yearbook covers, email headers, and most notably, social media posts. The free templates, however, are what make Canva one of the most necessary tools for a small business to use while trying to branch out on social media.

Although making new content for your company social media account doesn’t sound like the most thrilling pastime, it’s crucial. Having a strong online presence allows a business to increase awareness of its presence, become more interactive with its current and potential customers, and to manage its reputation.
Below is a screenshot from Canva’s website. On the left side of this picture, the template options are featured, while the main design is located in the middle of the screen. Most of the graphics and fonts are also free to use!

Any type of post you may want to create has an option on Canva. For example, if I wanted to create a new post for Facebook, I would look under create a design and select Facebook Post, located right under the big red arrow.
Next, after selecting the post I want to make, I’m taken to the design page, which looks like this:

The picture below shows how easy it is to select a template! On the left side of the screen, you can scroll through an endless list of templates for your Facebook post. Once you’ve selected which template tickles your fancy, all you have to do is click it.

Drum roll please… tada! There’s your post, looking professional and completed in a matter of a few minutes. After you’ve selected your template, you’re free to move text, pictures, and colors around until you’re completely happy with it.

Once you’re done, you can click the Download option located in the upper righthand corner and it will be on your computer and ready to send out! Taking advantage of tools like Canva can help to expedite these processes in the easiest way possible.

Like I said, no one actually wants to sit around and create posts for social media, unless you work at 2oddballs. We know you’re swamped with work and realize managing your online presence takes a lot of energy. If you find that maybe you’re too busy even for Canva, 2oddballs has your back.
